| Me&Ro combines the talents of designers Michele Quan and Robin Renzi. They share a mutual aesthetic based on a modern interpretation of traditional jewelry.Their classic and individual style acknowledges the human need to both adorn and communicate with jewelry. Me&Ro is inspired by the power jewelry has to express the human values of strength, love and faith as well as balance of beauty and form.
The sophistication of Me&Ro's aesthatic is in how their designs transmit the natural beauty of the materials they work with. Faceted ruby beads, tiny pearls and pink and blue sapphires speak in rich colors and shimmering textures. Beaded in clusters, dancing on hoops or handset in gold bands, precious stones can work both as subtle understatement and in cascading profusion. Michele and Robin have created exciting effects, either sleek strands or grape-like bunches.
Me&Ro emphasize the wearability of their designs, even when working with materials which verge on the excessive. They opt for subtley over showiness, pursuing an aesthetic of simple beauty. Multiple strands of tiny Basara pearls seem to flow on the body, responding to its natural contours and movements. Intricately beaded links give sculptured volume to precious stones, while at the same time lending them a loose, playful movement.
Me&Ro applies fine craftmanship to a variety of techniques and materials. Their designs are achieved by fabrication and by carving in wax, the latter favored for its three-dimensional, sculptural quality. Cast in silver and gold, their pieces seek a strength in both simpilicity and weight. All original pieces are made by Michele and Robin.
